Allenby is very popular with families that have young children. The neighbourhoods biggest drawing card is Allenby Public School, which has an excellent reputation built around its French immersion program for students grades 1-6. The neighbourhood has a mix of detached and semi-detached homes along with some condominium townhouses developed in the last ten years.
Allenby is pedestrian friendly with convenient access to amenities on Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue West. These shopping districts include grocers, fashion stores, children’s stores, sporting goods stores, gift shops, bakeries, and casual dining.
The North Toronto Memorial Community Recreation Centre, on Eglinton Avenue West, has an indoor and outdoor pool, gymnasium, walking track and two artificial ice rinks that are used as tennis courts in the summertime. This centre is located next to Eglinton Park which has a baseball diamond, sports fields, play structure and wading pool.
